1st Place Faelle#4079

For me, the answer came without a doubt. I invite you all to take a moment and enter my humble home.
Remove all distractions, turn the music on without the other sounds, and close your eyes. This music you are listening to, so mystic and ethereal, is what I image being the real song of creation, what is keeping the spiral together. I could listen to it as a meditative guide. Nature is where I am at peace, and this place is built around it, and not against it. The schools are both protected by Bartleby, and their architecture makes them feel like part of the decor, like they always belonged there. Ravenwood feels vast, only cluttered by foliage, vines and elemental effects, which is my perfect aesthetic. You can almost feel the warmth of the soft sunbeams peaking through the canopy.
If I could visit a place in the spiral, it would undoubtedly be Ravenwood.

2nd place Dragonkiller258#0265

Located in Maulwurf von Trap’s Musicology Office at the Arcanum, the music note lights would make a great addition to any music enthusiast’s house!

3rd place QueenAttitude50#7154

The Wild in Avalon has to be my special place as it reminds me of special times I had with my step dad growing up. I absolutely loved all of Avalon but The Wild was my favorite. If I’m ever having a bad day, I come here in game. I love the toadstool houses, I enjoy mushroom hunting in real life and I went with my stepdad growing up, it was a time I will always remember. So the mushrooms feel like home to me because it reminds me of those times. Sometimes we need to just stop and smell the roses, in the crazy hectic lives we live. I come here and just pause the outside world and stay here for a little while. Being outside, I love the open area here.

Crafting101 – Khrysalis

Tonight we will learn how to craft an Ornate Burrower Chair for Stendhill Hammertail's quest, “Stop! Hammertail.”

Welcome back to Crafting101, young Wizard! The next step in your crafting journey is Promethean Crafter! This stage comes after you earn the Transcendent Crafter badge. Like most crafting quests, you may teleport to a friend to reach Stendhill Hammertail. Otherwise, you will reach Stendhill while questing through Khrysalis. Khrysalis is home to many great recipes, so be sure to keep an eye out for the many vendors you’ll meet on your journey!

Stendhill Hammertail

Find Oztomeca in Silent Market, Khrysalis. He will assign you the next quest, called “Stop! HammerTail” This quest has you craft one Ornate Burrower Chair. The recipe is available for 45,000 gold.

The Recipe

Below is a list of all the reagents needed to craft an Ornate Burrower Chair along with their locations.

Deep Mushroom

Ten Deep Mushrooms are first on our recipe. This is a common reagent found throughout Wizard City, Krokotopia, Mooshu, and Grizzleheim. You can harvest this reagent from Boom Shrooms, Burning Snap Dragons, Fickle Pickle, and Dandelions. They’re sometimes available in the Bazaar!

Perfect Jade

Six Perfect Jades will bedazzle the chair. You can buy this reagent from Canica Sweet Chile, Archytas, or Noxolo Fasttrack for 100 gold per Perfect Jade. You might also harvest this reagent from Ivy League and Maelstrom Snap Dragons.

Comet Tail

Eight Comet Tails will give the chair some glimmer. Like other harvests, Comet Tail can be collected in areas of Khrysalis. You can collect this reagent in Crescent Beach, Khonda Desert, Sardonyx, and The Shadow Palace. This reagent is also dropped from mobs in Khrysalis, such as The Common Killer. In the Bazaar, this reagent goes for 400 to 4000 gold.

Sunstone

Four dazzling Sunstones also contribute to the making of the chair. These are a rare harvest from Sandstone and can be found in either Khonda Desert or Last Wood. I would also search the Halley’s Observatory instance in Marleybone. Sunstone is sometimes a harvest reward from Maelstrom Snap Dragon, Evil Magma Peas, Fickle Pickle, and Deadly Helephant Ears. While sometimes it can be found in the Bazaar, Sunstone can be bought with 200 Arena Tickets from Diego the Duelmaster.

The Transmute Recipe is listed below.

Turquoise

Seven Turquoise will add accent color to the recipe. Turquoise will be the hardest reagent to get on the list. You may want to farm the bosses of Xibalba or other bosses in Azteca to get this reagent. Aquilan bosses, like the Gladiator in The Pit of The Noxii, also have excellent drop rates for Turquoise. You might be lucky and find some in the Bazaar!

Golden Pearl

Six Golden Pearls will give off that nice golden look. These are a rare harvest that you can find from pearls in Stormriven Hall, The Grotto, The Portico, and Waterworks, Crab Alley. They are also able to be harvested from Maelstrom Snap Dragon, Evil Magma Peas, Deadly Helephant Ears, and Fickle Pickles. The Gorilla, Minotaur, Magic Eggs, and Dragonfly all have this item as one of their daily rewards. It’s also available in the Bazaar!

This reagent is rarely in the Bazaar because of its demand, but you might be lucky to find a few!

Transmute Recipes

The Hardest Crafting Recipe!

Have you ever thought about what the hardest thing to craft in Wizard101 might be? Which world is the most difficult, and in particular, what recipe is the most challenging in the entire game?

Well, we have tons of crafting guides that cover all the worlds in the Spiral, but lets look at the most difficult recipe to date, the Chain Reel!

You might make a case for the Revered crafting wands. They require good amounts of Flying Squid Ink, Aethyr Ore and also the Participation Trophies. A lot of worlds when questing and ranking up your crafting also challenged us, worlds like Dragonspyre come to mind. But trust me, none of them compare to what you’re about to see…

Don’t let me having all the reagents mislead you. 50 Flying Squid Ink and 100 Aethyr Ore is already rather taxing, but there’s a killer involved.

Getting 50 Platinum is only describable as absurdly difficult. It only really drops from the Accursed Play gauntlet and is still really rare. A lot of people who play actively on their max characters may not even have a single one, not to mention 50!

So let’s tackle getting these reagents so we can achieve this recipe!

Getting the Reagents!

The Squid Ink looks somewhat daunting, though honestly, you will most likely get enough from questing through Empyrea Part Two and farming for your Paradox gear.

The Aethyr Ore is a rather massive set-back. While farming in the Reverie or Husk can let you achieve what you need in a couple hours. That’s of course if you make use of transmutation, which trust me, you’ll want to do.

The most difficult reagent is the 50 Platinum. To clarify, if only using transmutation to achieve a single Platinum, it will cost you ten trillion Stone Blocks…

That’s ten followed by twelve zeros. 10 000 000 000 000 for one Platinum, so you’d need fifty times that for the full recipe.

While that absurd number sets in, it’s important to note that the only way I found to do this was by purchasing the Platinum with Empowers. But be careful if you try this, it’s not easy. This recipe cost me a lot of Empowers, probably over 1000. It’ll take a while to accomplish this feat!

Why craft it?

This is something I was asked a lot. Why Kyle? What for Kyle? To be honest, because I could. I enjoy doing these difficult things in games. The item itself, the Chain Reel, is an absolutely useless housing item.

I did it for the challenge mostly. To be able to say “look what I did !” Do you think you can do it too? Take the Chain Reel Challenge and post your finished Chain Reel on Twitter, Facebook, or Discord. Tag us at Ravenwood Academy so we can admire your work! I challenge you to craft the Chain Reel!

Crafting101 – Azteca

Tonight we will learn how to craft an Eagle War Shield for Oztomeca's quest, "Making the Grade."

Welcome back to Crafting101, young Wizard! After achieving Legendary Artisan, you will work to become a Transcendent Crafter. You may teleport to a friend to reach Oztomeca, like most other crafting quests. You could also quest to “Millions of Years in The Making” for access.

Oztomeca

You will find Oztomeca in Three Points, Azteca. Once you find him, pick up “Making the Grade.” This quest requires you to craft one Eagle War Shield. The recipe is available for 12,000 gold. On a side note, take a look at his Aztecan Castle Block recipes. They are some of the rarest blocks in the Bazaar!

The Recipe

Below is a list of all the reagents needed to craft an Eagle War Shield and how to find them.

Potent Trap

In order to craft the Eagle War Shield, you will need one Potent Trap Treasure Card. This is a difficult Treasure Card to get, but Aztecan bosses have a chance at dropping this card. You can quest through Azteca and check your loot. Otherwise, pick bosses, like the Caiman, to farm.

Ra

The shield also requires two Ra Treasure Cards. The Bazaar sells Ra Treasure Cards for 1200 to 2250 gold. You may also receive this Treasure Card as a reward for battling mobs in the Winterbane Gauntlet.

Agave Leaves

The next reagent required is two Agave Leaves. The Alto Alto and Mangrove Marsh are great locations to find Agave Leaves. The reagent is also sold by Brandon Mistborn, in Unicorn Way, for 400 Arena Tickets.

Agave Nectar

Next on the list is five Agave Nectar. This is a rare harvest from Agave Leaves. You might get lucky and pick up Agave Nectar when collecting Agave Leaves. Brandon also sells Agave Nectar for 2,500 Arena Tickets in Unicorn Way. The transmute recipe is later in the article.

Scrap Iron

The recipe requires ten Scrap Iron. Marleybone has several drop locations for Scrap Iron. The Cenote in Azteca and the Science Center in Celestia are also good drop locations. If you want, you can also buy Scrap Iron for 499 Crowns in the Crowns Shop. There is also a transmute recipe later in the article.

Golden Pearl

Four Golden Pearls should be easy to find. Although they’re a rare harvest, there are several places you can pick up Golden Pearls. The harvest locations include Stormriven Hall, the Grotto, the Portico, and Crab Alley. Several plants drop it, including Maelstrom Snap Dragons and Evil Magma Peas. The Bazaar also sells Golden Pearls. The Transmute Recipe is below.

Leather Straps

The recipe requires ten Leather Straps. The easiest way to get this reagent is from the Bazaar. Otherwise, Orange Dandelions and Trumpet Vines drop Leather Straps. The Transmute Recipe is below.

Turquoise

Five Turquoise can be hard to find. While the Bazaar sells this reagent, it’s sometimes sold out. Aquilan bosses and Xibalba drop Turquoise if the Bazaar is out of this reagent.

Transmute Recipes

Agave Nectar

Agave Nectar requires 15 Agave Leaves. This recipe is available from Popol Vuh Whitepaper in Azteca for 1,000 gold. The recipe appears after questing in Alto Alto.

Scrap Iron

Scrap Iron requires 10 Ore and 10 Stone Blocks. This recipe is available from Felicia Worthington in Regent’s Square for 300 gold.

Golden Pearl

Golden Pearls require 15 typical pearls. This recipe sells for 600 gold from Avery Templeton in the Celestia Base Camp.

Leather Straps

Leather Straps require 5 Bones. This recipe sells for 150 gold from Eudora Tangletree in Olde Town.

Completion

Once you have the reagents, you can craft the Eagle War Shield using a Housing Crafting Station. Finishing the quest results in 17,300 experience and 250 gold. You also receive the Transcendent Crafter Badge. Congratulations, young Wizard!

Thank you, Starlights, for joining my crafting and reagents collection! Catch our next edition of Crafting101 in Khrysalis.

Crafting101 – Death Spells

Welcome to the Death edition of my crafting series. I’ll walk you through the basics of crafting the Death spells in Wizard101. These are the spells dropped by Loremaster! Unfortunately, Headless Horseman will be omitted from this list. Maybe someday it’ll be a spell we can craft!

Deer Knight and Lord of Night’s Recipe Location

Deer Knight Recipe

Deer Knight is a hit-all Death spell that requires 5 pips. It has a base damage of 300 + another 270 over three rounds! This spell is a must for any Death Wizard. It has uses for both PvE and PvP players. The Deer Knight recipe can be bought for 60,000 gold from Grady in Avalon.

You will need the following Treasure Cards and Reagents to craft Deer Knight.
6 – Deer Knight Treasure Cards
100 – Perfect Onyx
200 – Ghost Fire
100 – Blood Moss
100 – Bone
50 – Spring
50 – Sunstone
12 – Amber

Lord of Night Recipe

Lord Of Night is another 5-pip Death damage spell. This spell gives 50% of the damage back to the caster in health! It also gives the enemy a 25% Infection as a trap. You can buy the Lord of Night recipe from Grady for 60,000 gold.

You will need the following Treasure Cards and Reagents to craft Lord of Night.
6 – Lord Of Night Treasure Cards
100 – Perfect Onyx
200 – Ghost Fire
50 – Nightshade
25 – Turquoise
50 – Scrap Iron
25 – Sunstone
12 – Amber

Where to Get the Reagents

Perfect Onyx: You can buy Perfect Onyx for 100 gold a piece in the Celestia Base Camp from the vendor Archytas.

Ghost Fire: You can buy Ghost Fire for 100 gold a piece in the Atheneum. Zolton Nightstone in Dragonspyre is the reagent vendor I prefer.

Blood Moss: I find that the easiest way to get Blood Moss is by transmuting the reagent. You can buy the transmute Blood Moss recipe from Avery Templeton in the Celestia Base Camp for 400 gold. It requires 15 Red Mandrake to transmute one Blood Moss.

Bone: You can get Bone from Elik Silverfist in the Bazaar.

Spring: I find that the best place to get Spring is in Marleybone. It can be harvested with Scrap Iron as a rare drop.

Sunstone: You can buy Sunstone from Diego The Duelmaster in Unicorn Way for 200 Arena Tickets. You can also buy the transmute Sunstone recipe from Avery Templeton in the Celestia Base Camp. If you are lucky, you might even find Sunstone in the Bazaar.

Amber: Amber is by far the most difficult item to get on this list. One of the most popular places to get Amber is by farming Gladiator Dimachaerus in Mount Olympus in Aquila.

Nightshade: In my opinion, the easiest way to get Nightshade is to buy it from Diego The Duelmaster for 175 Arena Tickets. You can find Diego in Unicorn Way. You can also buy the transmute recipe from Avery Templeton in the Celestia Base Camp for 200 gold.

Turquoise: You can buy Turquoise from Elik Silverfist in the Bazaar in Olde Town.

Deer Knight and Lord Of Night Treasure Cards: The best place to get both of these treasure cards is from Elik Silverfist from the Bazaar in Olde Town.

Castle Magic Triggers III

Introduction

This will be the final part of the Castle Magic triggers guides. In this guide we will cover the remaining Castle Magic triggers. These triggers are the most difficult to understand. If you don’t know what Castle Magic triggers are, read through the first two guides first. Each section will name the trigger, what it does, how to use it, and why I assigned it to this difficulty. Then, I will finish by giving an example of how I like to use the trigger.

Advanced Triggers

These are the complicated Castle Magic triggers. Unlike immediate triggers, their purpose will generally be specific. They do not have a purpose for every creation. The few items in this category have many interactions within one trigger. Their interactions are are not the easiest to understand.

Magic Brazier

The Magic Brazier is like the magic lever from the beginner guide. The brazier has many states and casts a spell when it enters each one. But, unlike the lever, the magic brazier has 4 states: off, fire, storm and ice. To change the brazier’s state a player must use the item by interacting with it. This is an advanced trigger, as it requires managing many states that each cast their own spells. The best uses I have seen for this trigger involve creating puzzles. When used with another trigger, you can create a brazier combination to open a door.

Magic Item Detector

The Magic Item Detector is likely the simplest of the advanced triggers. The player selects a size to detect in as well as a specific item for the trigger to detect. Then, the trigger will cast a spell whenever the selected item enters or leaves. This advanced trigger has both a settings menu and can move via castle magic. The only way this trigger works is if you are already using castle magic elsewhere. The best uses I have seen for this trigger involve setting a continuous path for an object to follow. One object can move towards a detector and create a chain effect. This is useful for wanting something to happen in a loop.

Magic Orb Catchers

Magic Orb Catchers need to be in the same house as a magic orb to function. They both come in three varieties: Fire, Ice and Storm. To use them, you need to both place the orb catcher and the corresponding magic orb somewhere in the same house. When a player walks over the orb, they will pick it up. As soon as that player walks near the same school’s orb catcher, the orb will disappear and the spell will trigger. One use for these triggers is requiring a player to have a key before accessing another area. If a magic orb catcher opens a door, the player would need the corresponding orb to open said door.

Magic Computer

The most infamous of the Castle Magic items. This item requires the deepest understanding to make use of. But, once you grasp the uses for this item, it opens up many new Castle Magic creations. The Magic Computer stores two signals, known as “Signal 1” and “Signal 2″. Then, based on what combination of these signals the magic computer is storing, will cast a spell. To add or remove either of these signals, you need to cast the “Add” or “Remove” signal spells on the Magic Computer. The Magic Computer has 6 different outputs, which I will explain in detail.

  • When Signal 1 AND 2 – This is the simplest of the magic computer expressions. When the Magic Computer has both signals, it will cast the AND spell. If it only has Signal 1 or Signal 2, it will not cast the spell, it must have both signals.
  • When Signal 1 OR 2 –  This expression requires only one of the signals to activate. It can be either Signal 1, Signal 2 or both. As long as the computer has at least one signal, the OR spell will activate.
  • When Signal 1 XOR 2 – Like the OR expression, except it only allows one signal or the other. If the computer has both signals, the XOR spell will not cast.
  • When NOT Signal 1 – This spell will cast as long as the Magic Computer does not have Signal 1. It can have no signals or Signal 2, but as soon as the Magic Computer gets Signal 1, it will not cast.
  • When NOT Signal 2 – This function will always be active as long as the Magic Computer does not have Signal 2. It can have no signals or Signal 1, but as soon as the Magic Computer gets Signal 2, it will not cast.
  • When NOT Signal 1 AND 2 – This spell will always cast as long as the Magic Computer does not have both signals. It is a complete opposite of “When Signal 1 AND 2”, if that spell is casting, this one is not.

As a concluding note on Magic Computers, they will only cast their spells when they update with a new signal. For instance, “When NOT Signal 1 AND 2” is active without touching the computer. But, it will not cast the spell until you alter either of the signals.

Conclusion

This concludes my guides on the Castle Magic triggers themselves. As always, feel free to ask if you have any questions on how to operate or use these triggers or about Castle Magic. I’d love to hear how you use your Castle Magic triggers! Otherwise stay tuned for more Castle Magic content and let me know what type of guides you would like to see in the comments below.

Crafting101 – Storm Spells

Today I will explain how to craft the Storm school spells you can’t get from questing and leveling up. I will also tell you where to get the reagents you need fast!

Recipe Vendor Location

The Storm school spells we will be crafting are Calypso and Catalan. To buy the recipes you will go through the Wild to the Wyrd then into Dun Scaith. Crafting101 – Zafaria

Today we will craft two Conga Drums and two Spirit Caller Drums for the quest "Drum a Little Drum"

Welcome back to Crafting101, young Wizard! Congratulations on achieving your Grandmaster Artisan Badge. You are now well on your way to becoming a Legendary Crafter. The Zafaria crafting quest is unlike any other crafting quest. You cannot complete this quest by teleporting to a friend to access the trainer early as you could with the others. You must complete the quest “To Market, To Market,” before being able to collect his quest.

Koyate Ghostmane

After completing ‘To Market, To Market,” Koyate Ghostmane will have the quest for you. You can find him near the large hollow log in Baobab Market. He is the first lion you see when you enter the area. Once you talk to him, you get the quest “Drum a Little Drum.” This quest requires you to craft two Spirit Caller Drums. The recipe for the Spirit Caller Drums will automatically go into your recipe book.
