Wizard101 Beastmoon event guide

Beastmoon Event Guide

Beastmoon consists of two different events that take place every month on Wizard101. These two events are called Beastmoon Hunt and Beastmoon Monster Mayhem. These are separate game modes with different rules and occur at different times. However, the overall premise of both games is to fight enemies using polymorph forms called “Icons.” Beastmoon is all about finding the form(s) that work best for you and the forms that work best together.

You are given a minute at the start of each match to review the different forms and choose. Only one player can use a specific form at a time, so it is smart to have a second choice. Each week that Beastmoon is in The Spiral, a list of free forms will be posted and pinned in the Ravynwood Discord. You can view and buy forms at the Beast Form Upgrade podium in the Arena and occasionally even at the Crowns Shop.

Remember, let your team know if you need help or are new. Beastmoon doesn’t work well without good team communication!

Beastmoon Hunt

The Beastmoon Hunt goes live for a week on the first Tuesday of every month. This is the PvP version of the Beastmoon. You are put on a team of 6 players and must battle a team of another six players. This event is sort of like “King of the Hill,” where you must capture/defend different capture points around the map to earn points.

A battle will begin if another team enters a battle circle while your team is also physically there. There are five different battle circles on every map. These include Sun, Moon, Eye, Star, and Spiral.

Sun and Moon battles are 2v2, Eye and Star are 3v3, and Spiral is 4v4. If you are new to the game, stick to the 2v2 battles and tell your teammates you could use tips. Capture the battle circles for points, and win battles in the battle circles to gain even more points! The first team to hit 100 points wins.

The Spiral capture point does not open until about halfway through the match. It is recommended to avoid capturing the Spiral battle circle unless your team is losing. This is because winning battles in the Spiral gives a massive point boost.

It is important NEVER to start a battle alone! It is good to note that if your team has captured every battle circle, your team will be “Dominating” and start to passively earn points!

Some forms have little grey dot(s) next to their name. This indicates the number of bonus pips that the form can have. These pips can be found around the map in the form of wisps. It is best not to join a match or capture a battle circle until you fill in all your pip slots by finding wisps.

This event is considered to be the hardest of the two since it is battling other players instead of CPUs. Take note that if you die or flee battle in this game mode, you lose that form for the rest of the match.

Beastmoon Monster Mayhem

On the third Tuesday of every month, Beastmoon Monster Mayhem goes live for a week. This is the PvE version of the Beastmoon. For this event, you are put on a team of six players and must fight three waves of enemies to win.

There are three different battles around the map in each of the three waves. It is generally recommended that the first two waves have two players per battle. That way, all three battles around the map are being fought simultaneously, saving the most time for the Spiral battle. Battles during the third wave (after the second Spiral win)  are typically more difficult, so having three players per battle for this last wave is commonly recommended.

Unlike Beastmoon Hunt, Beastmoon Monster Mayhem is timed. Each wave, a “Clockfather flower” or a “Time Clam,” will spawn somewhere on the map. It is vital to find these bonuses to get extra time for your team.

After completing the battle circle fights, the Spiral ring will unlock for a boss battle at the end of each wave. Four players go into the Spiral fight, and the two remaining players fight in outside battles that, when won, cast beneficial spells on the Spiral fight from the outside.

Do your best to strategically pick the best forms with your team to take on the Spiral battle ring and win each wave. Remember to pick your spells fast and hustle to each battle ring—every second counts in this game mode.

Also, note that if you die in battle, you only keep your form for three rounds, so it is best to flee when defeated after that. It is also important to note that the Beastmoon Anvil is only available in the Arena during Beastmoon Monster Mayhem. The Beastmoon Anvil allows you to craft gold idols that unlock new forms and other great rewards.

We hope this gives you the confidence to join the fun and try Beastmoon the next time it comes to The Spiral. If you have any questions, join us on Discord, where you can get answers in our dedicated Beastmoon channel.
